This FREE virtual roundtable (90 min) will take place at 2:00pm GMT on February 17th, 2021. Following the event, AFTS will publish a white paper case study summarizing Amanleek’s business operations and highlighting some strategic opportunities for the startup moving forward.
Held in partnership with Ovamba, the Dissecting the Issue: A Virtual Sandbox Event series brings together stakeholders to discuss and address the real challenges faced by African-focused startups and small businesses. The purpose of this series is to support the growth of Africa’s tech ecosystems through collaboration and the sharing of best practices relevant to current barriers being faced by the sector’s innovators.
For each sandbox event, the organizers review applications from innovators who have identified specific challenges hindering growth. We then invite a group of experts to join us for a virtual roundtable session that dissects and solves for the selected startup’s specific challenges. The “case” is then summarized in report form, published, and made available for download on our website.
Our first sandbox event featured innovator George Obed with Nomad Money who had difficulties navigating Nigeria’s opaque regulatory environment. This was a huge success for George who managed to secure a partnership with the commercial banking partner invited to speak at the event!
For our second in the series, we will be featuring Egypt-based startup Amanleek whose challenges are ones faced by all first-movers in a sector: building awareness for its products and engaging regulators in a dialogue that supports innovation in the space.
Amanleek is an end-to-end digital insurance platform aiming to simplify the purchase and management of insurance products through digitization; making it more accessible and offering a hassle free experience for insurance seekers in Egypt and the region.
